What Happens During the House Raising Process?
Plans Created
The first step is to create building a full set of plans, proposed elevations and everything that you need to begin the engineering process.
Site Inspection
Once the plans have been approved, we’ll visit the site to assess the area including access and any obstacles we need to be aware of.
Commence house lifting process by putting temporary steel beams and house raising blocks.
To ensure the site is safe for our workers, we place temporary steel beams and raising blocks under the house before any works take place.
Site clean and excavate new subgrade
Once the house is supported by the temporary beams, we go underneath and remove all rubbish and obstacles before excavating a new level ground floor.
Dig pier holes and concrete new steel posts.
Your new steel posts will be positioned in pier holes dug into the ground and then filled with concrete to provide a strong base for your house to sit on.
Lower the house on to new posts.
Once the concrete has set the posts in place, we can now lower your property onto it’s new supporting posts.
Install structural steel beams and weld to steel posts.
Structural steel beams are positioned to give the posts additional strength and maintains the integrity of the support for your property.
Dig footings for new slab & retaining wall
Footings are an important part of your new foundation construction. The purpose of footings is to support the foundation and prevent settling.
Box and pour new slab.
The new area under your house will be boxed and ready for fresh concrete to be poured, providing a solid base for your new level.
Carpenters to commence framing
Once the slab is poured and set, the carpenters can commence framing your new area to your plans, making your new area the perfect place to suit your household needs.
